A Free Self-Led Version
Upon graduation, you'll receive a self-led version of the training, allowing you to revisit the content and review any information you may have missed, with access for one year.
A Professional Manual
Additionally, you’ll receive a detailed theoretical and technical training manual, complete with space for notes, ensuring it serves as a valuable reference for years to come.
1 on 1 Support
Each student will receive one 45-minute 1-on-1 session during the training, and a DJ coach will always be available during practice time to answer any questions.

We'll make sure Traktor is properly installed, tracks are imported in a way that keeps your collection neat and organized, and preferences are configured to lay a solid foundation for a smooth and successful learning journey.

We don’t teach you how to build sets; we help you uncover how you build sets. The DTM Set Creation Model is unique in that it provides just enough structure to allow your innate musical talent to shine. We’ll also explore the browser section of your software, showing you how to set it up in a way that works best for your personal workflow with music.

Tracks—our passion! We dive deep into how to find the perfect tracks, where to purchase them, and which formats are best for your DJ setup. But that’s just the beginning. We’ll also explore the ins and outs of your decks' layout and functions to ensure you're using them to their full potential. By the end of this session, you'll have a solid understanding of not just what to play, but how to set yourself up for a smooth, seamless DJ experience.

Your day off—sort of. It's a chance to have a one-on-one session with a DTM DJ coach, go hunting for fresh tracks, work on your playlist, get a professional headshot taken, and connect with your fellow participants. Think of it as a well-earned break in the middle of an intense, immersive learning experience—giving you time to recharge while still making progress on your DJ journey

Today is dedicated entirely to mastering transitions and becoming proficient with the mixer section of both your hardware and software. We’ll begin by focusing on the three foundational skills essential for smooth, professional transitions, ensuring you build a strong and reliable foundation. Before long, you’ll be looping, EQing, and using FX with confidence and ease.

Our Dream Team at Dance the Medicine includes established Conscious and Ecstatic Dance event organizer, movement facilitators and DJ's, We are diverse, coming from a wide array of backgrounds and modalities with varying visions about how to deliver our dance medicine to the world. What we share is a love of dance, music and community. We are collaborative, empathetic, action-minded and believe that dance has the ability to change the world! Come learn, play and DANCE with us!

I am grateful to be allowed to be a part of this network that guides and help each other. I feel safe because of this community - I'm looking forward to using everything I´ve learned. Good and patient teachers <3 I highly recommend DTM <3

I loved the accommodation, the training, the people, the food! I do think there is room for improvement on a few things: I think the training should have level 1 and level 2 and that they shouldn't happen at the same time. So level 1 would be to learn the basics and level 2 we get to create sets and learn more technical related things. Since we were given tracks it would have been great to have us all use the given tracks to create a 1-hour set and share it within our group if it's not possible to do so for the whole group. It would have been great to be able to DJ with the given set while our peers dance to it and then we get feedback. And we could have done that (create a 1-hour set) as well if we had our own tracks already. I also think that the individual groups as they were should have happened right after a dance and not after lunch specially since some groups only discussed about the software and technique. It wasn't very useful without being in front of the console. If there is ever a Level 2 training, I'll be there :)

Loved this retreat and was so inspired by how Bernice and her amazing team work together. I appreciated the care and professionalism, the flexibility, the honesty, the creativity, the magic, the music, the dance...
